The Amusement Hall was used as the gathering place for the pioneers of Chesterfield. Frank Robertson described the view of his father, William Robertson, of Chesterfield. "On the north he could see a settlement with two small brick buildings, a meeting house and an amusement hall situated majestically upon a hill."
